sorry to it's quiet here right now.
I am in the UK with my wife and daughter spending Christmas with my parents - first one since my brother passed away a couple of months ago...
Still I have been reading around and want to send a reciprocal thanks and shout out to Wade at www.cyclingtipsblog.com - Great blog.
Back in Chicago next week with photos of a recently finished commission and an art purchase.

Its a Christmas Cosmos
So I finally decided to throw out the remaining shattered part of my bike - I did not see my plans of art projects taking shape.
On the way out of the basement with this Mavic Cosmos rim I paused and remembered the first Christmas I spent with my wife in a London flat many years ago. As we would be splitting time between London, NYC and Chicago a tree seemed a waste so I hung a bike wheel vertically from a wall, wrapped it in lights, ornaments and tinsel.
So after an hour with some fishing line and decorations collected over the last few years a the tradition was continued with a new take for 2009.

Hill Climb

So maybe this is a little far from Chicago but maybe it's the closest thing we have to Alpe D'Huez.

I bet there are no cycling signs all around his recreational facility but maybe they will let us go organize something at 6am one spring day?

"Messenger, Messenger"....

...is a great children's book by Robert Burleigh.
It follows Calvin Curbhopper on his typical day in NYC.
Gotta love it.
